I just want to promote the adoption of the wild mustangs and give credit to a few of the other people that feel the same way and are doing an incredible job of working with horses.

A special Appreciation to the Mustang Heritage Foundation for all the good work and promotion to saving the mustangs.

Congratulations to Madeleine Pickens

Madeleine has been fighting for the wild mustangs for several years now and a lot of people have supported her by signing petitions.  Her website

Save our Heritage - Our Wild Horses - You can adopt a mustang, or support Madeleine Pickens in her effort to create a sanctuary for them.

I have had several people call me about the mustangs, and I enjoy talking to anyone about them, but that is all I can do is talk to you about these incredible animals.  I wish every horse lover would get behind Madeleine Pickens and her fight to save the wild mustangs.

I don't have anything to do with the BLM or the adoption of the mustangs, we just have a filly that we adopted in 2009 and she is an incredible horse, and we dream of adopting 1 or 2 more.  If you are interested in adopting a mustang, look at the BLM website and find an adoption center close to you.

Pauls Valley Adoption Center

The Pauls Valley facility serves as a resting point for animals arriving from the West and being shipped to adoption locations in the central and eastern United States. With 12 pastures stretching across 400 acres of land, this facility provides wild horses and burros a natural and safe environment until they are placed in new homes. The facility can hold a maximum of 600 animals, although the actual number of wild horses and burros at the site varies throughout the year. A drive-up interpretation site situated near the pastures allows visitors to view the animals as they leisurely roam and graze on the land.

Adoption Details: Adoptions are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Pauls Valley facility, from 8 a.m. - noon . There is a mixed group of 70-80 animals available for adoption each month. Please visit the New Mexico's wild horse and burro website for additional schedule information and details. You may also call the BLM's Wild Horse and Burro National Toll Free Number at 866-4MUSTANGS.

Directions:  Pauls Valley's Adoption Center South of Oklahoma City on I-35 to mile marker 74, Kimberlin RD, go West 1/4 mile and turn right.

Madeleine Pickens fighting for Wild Horses  MadeleinePickens.com

I just want to say that I appreciate anyone that has wealth and prestige, taking the time and interest to fight for the wild horses, like Madeleine Pickens has done.  I hope everyone that loves horses, follows and supports her in her campaign for the protection of the mustangs.  I also support the adoption program, because if it were not for the low adoption fee, some of us would not be able to own a awesome animal as the mustangs with such a heritage.
